From diagnosing people to decoding humanity.

Dr. Bak Nguyen began in healthcare, where every patient arrived with a story hidden behind the symptoms. He built Mdex & Co. in 2003, learning that leadership is not about treating isolated problems—it is about redesigning the system that produces them.

That instinct moved into publishing, speaking and finally cinema. Through Emotive World, co-founded in 2016, he creates documentary and animated universes about resilience, identity, history, mythology, economics and the psychology of human performance.

He does not approach film as an escape from reality. He uses it to make reality understandable.

Dentistry trained Dr. Bak to listen beneath the obvious, make decisions under pressure and accept responsibility for outcomes. Mdex & Co., co-founded with mechanical engineer Tranie Vo, became the proving ground where he learned to build teams, redesign business models and lead through uncertainty.

The filmmaker did not replace the dentist. He inherited his precision.
